Burkina Faso was admitted as one of the eight pilot countries benefiting from the Forest Investment Programme (FIP). In this context, Burkina Faso has an Investment Plan (IP) with the help of the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the World Bank (WB), which was approved by the IPF subcommittee on 6 November 2012 and $30 million in funding was agreed This investment plan is funded through two priority projects:
(i) the Decentralized Sustainable Forest Management Project (18 million $US), funded by the WB, and
(ii) the RedD-funded Participatory Forest Management Project (12 million $US), funded by the AfDB.
